The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our line of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

Here’s another shape from the world of briar that I wanted to bring to my meerschaum pipes: the fish. Though less common than the ubiquitous blowfish, the “fish” is a broader category, mostly found in contemporary artisan briar carving, such as the pipes of Tonni Nielsen, Alex and Dasha Florov, or Abe Herbaugh. These designs tend to have a form that expresses motion, or even speed, as well as organic elements, such as the gulping “mouth” and twisting “tail” sections seen on the fore and back of this one’s bowl section. This rendition is even more unique in the shape’s history, as it features a reverse calabash chamber system in its “stomach.”
