Originally trained as a woodworker and cabinetmaker, Italy’s Ivan Romagnolo was, nonetheless captivated by smoking pipes since his early teenage years. In 2015, he finally decided to put his 25 years of experience in woodcrafts into his boyhood dream. Since then, Romagnolo has committed himself to the life of a pipe maker, producing high-quality Italian pipes from his workshop in Biella.
This particular pipe from Ivan Romagnolo is a nicely Italian rendition of a classic bulldog, though not without a certain artisan flair in its composition. In addition to being distinctly long shanked, the pipe features a swirling, verdant Lucite stem, which pairs beautifully with the pipe’s more traditional, light blonde finish.
This pipe is completely unsmoked, having come to us in a large new old stock lot from a shop closure in Europe. Some minor scratches on the bowl, but nothing major by any measure.
