2008 Peterson Pipe of the Year, Smooth Briar Pipe, Fishtail (267/1000) [SOLD OUT]

Out of stock

Description

Now this is a pipe worthy of the Pipe of the Year designation! Peterson, one of the oldest and most important remaining pipe making companies, has been making limited edition, yearly pipes since 1997. Sometimes these pipes are unique shapes, and sometimes they are traditional shapes from Peterson’s catalog with a twist added. This one looks to be one of their more traditional bent billiards, however this iteration features sterling silver adornments not typically featured in standard releases.

The pipe features a sterling silver rim and a sterling silver band, both inscribed with fittingly Celtic patterns. The beauty of these decorations is rivaled, however, by the grain on the pipe’s natural, golden stained bowl. It is quite simply phenomenal to look at, as the bowl is swimming in bird’s-eye grain. The stem is vulcanite and the mouthpiece is a fishtail, rather than p-lip, design. Finally, the pipe comes with its original packaging.

Whether you’re a Peterson collector or are simply looking for a very special, high grade pipe, this one should scratch your itch. This is one pipe that I’ll be very sad to see leave.
