Description

WO Larsen was a tobacconist in Copenhagen Denmark. In the 1960s, when Danish-style pipes were becoming highly sought after, thanks to revolutionary pipe-makers such as Sixten Ivarsson, a workshop was set up on the Larsen premises to produce enough high-grade Danish pipes to meet demand. This workshop was staffed by the emerging masters of Danish pipe-making, such as Sven and Teddy Knudsen, Hans ‘Former’ Nielsen, Jess Chonowitsch, Poul Ilsted, and Benni Jorgensen.

An uncommonly conservative design from the iconic Danish workshop, this Larsen Liverpool nonetheless has plenty to keep Danish and non-Danish fans alike interested. Dressed in an elegant and simple crisp, black sandblast, interrupted only by a band of smooth-polished briar, the pipe is surprisingly lightweight and very portable despite its considerable length. This latter aspect, paired with the pipe’s vulcanite stem, ensures that it will be an easy and highly comfortable clencher.

Despite being 40-50 years old, the pipe is in near-mint condition. Its nomenclature has faded a little, but the pipe appears to have been smoked infrequently, or has at least been handled with a great deal of care by its previous owner.
