Description
Weber Pipe Co. was a major American pipe company established 1938 by German immigrant Carl B. Weber, also known for writing the book Weber’s Guide to Pipes and Pipe Smoking. In addition to manufacturing Weber pipes, WPC also manufactured Jobey pipes and contracted Karl Erik to produce the Jobey Dansk line during the Danish pipe boom in the later 20th century.
So-called “virgin” finishes—light stains and/or wax finishes—are typically only used when the briar itself is of a superior quality, as otherwise the hallmarks of lower quality briar would be easily noticeable. Weber’s Virgin adhered to this convention, resulting in some pretty fine, traditional briars, from what I’ve seen. This slightly large billiard rendition is no exception, having a bowl so covered in bird’s-eye one might even confuse it for a Dunhill Root briar at first glance.
The condition is very good. Some inner rim darkening and handling marks.
