Description

Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand—a title that it continues to hold to this day.

In the later decades of the 20th century, Vauen made the very smart move of creating new shapes for its pipes, with a marked influence from the great Danish pipe makers of the time. This trend has continued since (though Vauen also has plenty of traditional, and plenty of highly innovative, other designs in its contemporary catalog), with “Danish” models having a firm place in the Vauen portfolio. This 4113 channels the stubby, chubby spirit found in artisans like Jens Tao Nielsen and Nanna Ivarsson, with the result being a plump, near-nosewarmer length acorn, dressed in a particularly tactile blast and accented with a narrow silver collar.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
