Description
The Tinder Box is a historic North American tobacconist, originally founded in 1928. Over the years, a number of established pipe manufacturers have produced pipes for The Tinder Box house-brand, including Charatan, Savinelli, and Ascorti.
While the name “Corallo” might make one immediately think of the Savinelli Punto Oro Corallo, this particular pipe was not produced by the venerable Milan make. But that guess isn’t far off. After all, the Verona make sold by The Tinder Box was made by Verona-based Mauro Armellini, who formerly worked for Savinelli and is indeed credited with creating the Punto Oro Corallo finish for Savinelli. As one can see here, Armellini took a very similar approach when crafting the Verona Corallo, with a stony rustication and light, near-naked finish, which one can also see has begun to color, just like the Savinelli version.
The condition is very good. Chamber slightly over-reamed.
