It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
Savinelli’s Hercules series is one whose pipes are larger, stouter, and feature wide, deep chambers, well suited for longer smokes, or for mixture and ribbon cuts requiring a greater surface area for the burn. This particular Hercules is a unique design, being Savinelli’s shape 619 EX. It’s a bent pot, but with a foursquare-style paneled bowl and shank. This shape is dressed in a light, very Italian rustication, with its rim left smooth and polished.
The condition is fair. Some finish fading and handling marks.
