Savinelli Hand Made Partially Sandblasted Dublin Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
Just like Charatan in the mid-20th century, Savinelli set up its own, dedicated freehand workshop at their Milan campus in the 1970s, and Savinelli freehands continue to be made to this day under the Autograph name. Also just like Charatan, Savinelli used to sell seconds-quality (i.e., pipes with minor cosmetic imperfections) Autograph pipes under a sub-brand, though the latter were simply stamped as being handmade in Italy. This is one of those pipes, taking the form of a large, freehand Dublin hawkbill hybrid dressed in a mixed smooth and sandblast finish
The condition is great. Very minor inner rim darkening and slight handling marks.
