Qi Studio Partially Sandblasted Rhodesian Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked

Finding information about this pipe, along with a few others from the same make, has been a little difficult, but I’ll tell you what I do know. Qi Studio is quite popular in Europe, though the studio itself is based in China. It is run by a Mr Qi (referred to as Master Qi), who spent the last decade training and working with some of the living greats of Danish pipe making, including Anne Julie, Lars Ivarsson, Kurt Balleby, and Hans “Former” Nielsen. The Former connection appears to be especially well established at this point, with Qi Studio partnering with Former on both the latter’s 60th Anniversary Pipe, as well as a more recent, Former-designed series of Qi Studio pipes (in a manner not entirely unlike his Bentley pipes).

The pipes we received were new old stock Qi Studio, seemingly of Qi’s own design. The pipes are handmade, fairly compact, of a very contemporary, artisan style, and beautifully finished, with fantastic sandblasting and uses of accents. I may well keep one for myself, actually.

As implied, this pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating, and also comes with its original sleeve.
