I’ve followed the work of Petr Pohludka for a few years now. He’s an artisan pipe-maker from the Czech Republic, with a workshop in the Beskid Mountains. The pipes are all hand crafted and are very distinct, even in this golden age of artisan makers. There’s a touch of Danish and German influence in his work, as seen in this large, plump ball, or apple, shape, but his use of color is quite idiosyncratic. This one pairs a very natural, light sandblast with smooth rim and underside sections with an amber-toned ferrule.
The pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. As with many of Petr’s pipes, this one is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, but should accommodate an adapter of some variety if preferred.
