Papa Bear’s Pipes are made by North American artisan Tim Beaumont. Beaumont has been making pipes since 2018, cultivating a unique style that isn’t afraid to mix and match design elements and to create something completely out of the ordinary.

While Tim Beaumont has been putting out many very interesting Danish-inspired pipes recently, that doesn’t mean he’s gone completely native. I’d consider this pipe to be an example of a much more “American” smoker. Stout and slightly stubby, it’s a decidedly stacked take on the Rhodesian shape, exhibiting plenty of heft while remaining light enough to clench. The sandblasting is, as always with Beaumont, excellent, though in this case he’s opted for a mixed finish, leaving room for a thick ring of tight bird’s-eye on the bowl’s broad rim.
