Description

Much like the MBSD Meerschaum Silver and Silver Cap lines, the Double Silver is comprised exclusively of sterling silver-mounted meerschaum. But, as the name suggests, Double Silver pipes are mounted not once, but twice. Each features a sterling silver cap at its rim, protecting the bowl and chamber from slips of the flame and lava build-up, as well as a sterling silver fitment at the shank end, typically in the form of an army mount. Each is made using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish block meerschaum found on our other various meerschaum lines, but with even more finery than any of the meers we’ve offered thus far.

In addition to their functional improvements, one thing that we’ve always been interested in when it comes to our meerschaum pipes is expanding our design portfolio. In particular, we’re always looking to including new shapes that either aren’t commonly associated with the medium, or which have been transformed in the last half century via the briar artisan scene. This one, for example, takes the form of a shape very dear to Italian briars, the author. Not unlike the renditions of Savinelli and Brebbia, it’s a squat, plump design, though where it breaks Italian design conventions is its in its masterfully carved and quintessentially Turkish, true lattice-carved finish.

This pipe comes with a custom-fitted hard case.
