Description

Much like the MBSD Meerschaum Silver and Silver Cap lines, the Double Silver is comprised exclusively of sterling silver-mounted meerschaum. But, as the name suggests, Double Silver pipes are mounted not once, but twice. Each features a sterling silver cap at its rim, protecting the bowl and chamber from slips of the flame and lava build-up, as well as a sterling silver fitment at the shank end, typically in the form of an army mount. Each is made using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish block meerschaum found on our other various meerschaum lines, but with even more finery than any of the meers we’ve offered thus far.

In addition to their functional improvements, one thing that we’ve always been interested in when it comes to our meerschaum pipes is expanding our design portfolio. In particular, we’re always looking to including new shapes that either aren’t commonly associated with the medium, or which have been transformed in the last half century via the briar artisan scene. This Double Silver line meerschaum is one of our many author renditions inspired by the classic designs of Italian pipe making, such as those of Brebbia and Savinelli. This one has also been given a rather Italian, micro-rusticated finish, emulating the “leathery,” and other fabric-inspired, aesthetics of the nation’s post-war briars. Finally, a reverse calabash system has also been included within its shank, which should provide an even cooler, drier smoke than a standard-bore briar or meerschaum pipe.

This pipe comes with a custom-fitted hard case.
