At MBSD we sell a lot of high-grade, high-quality pipes from various iconic makes, but some of the pipes we’re most proud of are our meerschaums. Right from the beginning, we wanted to offer the best smoking meers on the market, and to do this, we had them made with two distinct features. First, we made sure that they were made with block meerschaum that was carefully selected to be the most lightweight, pure, and porous available, meaning it would also color more quickly and evenly as it is smoked. Second, for our Deluxe meerschaums, we had the pipes made with a patented Briar-Mortise system that is closer to the stem connection on a briar pipe than a standard meerschaum. This is because, on our Deluxe models, the mortise is made from briar itself, while the tenons used are made from Delrin. This allows for more precision construction of the pipe’s draft hole, as well as a general extra durability and longevity.

We don’t get many MBSD Meerschaums through the estates pipeline, which I’d take as a good sign of their success in doing what they need to. As for this one, I remember it well, as it belonged to a dearly departed friend. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it after that but, having given it some thought, I figured it would be nice if the pipe found someone who could enjoy it as much as he did. It’s begun to color very nicely already, and is sure to become even more golden and lovely over time. The only difference is that it’ll be a collaboration, or a duet, rather than a solo performance.

The condition is good. Some darkening and slight scratches on the rim. This pipe comes with its original fitted case.
