Timeless Traditions is the second instalment of our own, house-brand pipes. After creating the affordable “By Vitale” line in partnership with Piero Vitale, we wanted to expand into pipes that were made by hand, but were still easy on the wallet. This gave birth to two new series of pipes; one that would be more classical in style, and another that would be more contemporary.

Timeless Traditions is the first of the new MBSD Briars series. As the name implies, these pipes are heavily inspired by the briars of the interwar years, but whose designs have shown themselves to be, simply, timeless. Countless hours were spent scouring the catalogs of early 20^th century factory giants, from Barling to Kaywoodie, with the intention of capturing the essence of the old world, while making sure to keep in mind the needs of today’s pipe smokers.

For shape number 1 of the Timeless Traditions series, we selected a design that has proven itself to be just about unbeatable in terms of elegance and practicality: the “army mount” billiard. Turned from high-quality briar, mounted with sterling silver, and fitted with hand-cut vulcanite, the TT1 is our tribute to a simple, yet sophisticated, design that helped define a generation of smoking pipes.
