Kaywoodie Relief Grain 45 Rusticated Panel Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Out of stock

Description

Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.

The ‘Relief Grain’ Kaywoodie was introduced by KB&B in 1936, while the shape 45 octagon panel billiard was introduced in 1947. The latter was discontinued before 1968, so this particular Kaywoodie will have been made some time between 1947 and the mid-1960s. Kaywoodie collectors and enthusiasts will be happy to know that the pipe also has KB&B’s famed four-hole stinger.

The condition is good. There’s some rim darkening, and a little residual oxidation on the stem, but these are superficial imperfections. For a pipe of its age, this one has been preserved remarkably.
