Astleys Les Wood Smooth Bent Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked [SOLD OUT]

Description

Astleys was one of London’s most historic pipe and tobacco shops. Like many pipe tobacconists, its owners had pipes made specially to be sold under the shop’s name. Astleys pipes, however, were made by some of the premier pipe manufacturers and artisans in the UK, such as Dunhill, Charatan, Les Wood, and Ken Barnes and Barry Jones of James Upshall. As a result, Astleys pipes are prized for their quality, and as examples of the very finest British pipes.

While it can sometimes be quite difficult to know who made a specific Astleys pipe, we have confirmed through our access to Astleys company records, and through Mr Wood himself, that this particular specimen was made by Les Wood of Ferndown fame.

The pipe is also completely unsmoked – a rarity when it comes to Astleys pipes, as the company closed long ago – and comes with its original box from the famous Jermyn Street tobacconist.
