Medico

Medico was introduced by the American S.M. Frank company in 1933 alongside its disposable paper pipe filter. The system helped make filtered tobacco pipes widely available through tobacconists, pharmacies, and general retailers across the United States.

Medico produced practical pipes in a broad selection of familiar shapes and finishes. Although best known for affordable filtered briars, the name also appeared on cigarette holders and occasional meerschaum pipes, giving the brand a more varied history than its everyday reputation might suggest.
