Lorenzo tobacco pipes developed from Fratelli Lana, a company established in Varese, Italy, in 1900. Following the Second World War, the business came under the direction of Lorenzo Tagliabue, who renamed the company and worked to elevate its pipes alongside Italy’s emerging postwar brands.
After Lorenzo Tagliabue’s death in 1987, the company was acquired by the Aliverti family. Across these different periods, Lorenzo produced traditional shapes, generously proportioned Italian designs, and pipes showing a clear Danish influence. Lloyd’s was among the names associated with Lorenzo during Tagliabue’s leadership.
MBSD’s Lorenzo selection may include Elba, Lloyd’s, Uncle Paul, and other estate lines. Smooth, sandblasted, and rusticated examples reach us through collections and our pipe-buying and trade-in program.
