Savinelli De Luxe Milano 130 KS Smooth Stack Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

The De Luxe Milano was a staple in Savinelli’s catalog decades ago and has long since been discontinued, so it’s very rare to come across an unsmoked example like this one. Even more rare is to come across one in their shape 130 KS, which isn’t part of Savinelli’s standard shape chart anymore either. These days, if you want a 130 KS, your only option is to find one of their limited edition Antica models, which use stummels from, well, years gone by when they would have otherwise been used for De Luxe Milano models, just like this one. Rarity aside, it is a genuinely beautiful pipe, with bird’s-eye, cross-grain and a light stain illuminating its bowl, and a clear Lucite (or perhaps Perspex?) stem that makes the bowl stand out even more.

This pipe is, as mentioned, completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating.
