Description
Lattice carving has become a hallmark of Turkish excellence when it comes to meerschaum pipes, though some renditions are better than others. This one is beautifully carved, with consistent patterning and the right depth of each nook to make it a “true lattice,” with clear signs of careful, methodical work. Besides that, the design is very interesting one, sort of like a bell, but with a pronounced ridge underneath it that strikes as a little similar to the old Charatan Keel shape.
The condition is very good. Minor rim darkening and chamber slightly over-reamed at the lip.
