Description

Originally a science teacher in California, Nathan Armentrout began making pipes in 2009 and has since emerged as one of North America’s most talented, high-grade artisan pipe-makers. Inspired by Denmark’s legendary carvers, Nathan’s designs continue the legacy of the Danish pipe-making movement into the present day and expand that legacy through his own unique interpretations of the masters of old.

Despite his relatively short career, Rad Davis had a profound impact on the world of pipes. This is not just in the enduring fondness that smokers have for his pipes, but also in the influence he’s had on other artisans. This pipe, from Nathan Armentrout, is an expressed homage to Davis, whose career was already in full swing when Armentrout was starting out. Taking the form of a mixed finish, Danish-American Rhodesian in the Rad Davis mold, the pipe features a crisp, partial sandblast, a two tone, black and tan color palette, and a maple insert spliced into its ebonite stem.
