LCS Briars are made by English artisan Simon Bosko. Like his fellow Englishman Chris Kelly, of Eldritch Pipes, Bosko has been a regular fixture within the YouTube Pipe Community for nearly a decade, and indeed it was Bosko’s experiences within that community that first led him to take up pipe making. Specializing in freehand shapes, Bosko’s work is typically closer to Charatan or GBD when it comes to form, though with a signature aesthetic provided by way of accents and color palettes that are decidedly more contemporary. This one, for example, is a highly organic, freehand apple, with impressive, tight straight grain elevated by a deep, fiery contrast finish. The pipe’s horn ferrule and cumberland stem match the alternating hues of the bowl quite perfectly, resulting in a design that is both rugged and naturalistic, and cohesive and well-matched.
The condition is very good. Some inner rim darkening. As with most LCS Briars, this one is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters if desired.
