Chacom Pirate 155 Sandblasted Poker Sitter Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm

Description

Chacom is one of France’s most historic and iconic makes. Its founders, the Comoy family, began their career as boxwood pipe-makers in the early 1800s, before briar had even been discovered, with Henri Comoy (of Comoy’s fame) emigrating to England in 1879 and founding the country’s first briar pipe factory. In 1922, Henri and his nephews, the Chapuis, founded the Chapuis Comoy pipe factory in Saint-Claude, France, which shortly after began producing pipes bearing the partnered families’ names – ‘Cha’ for Chapuis, and ‘Com’ for Comoy. Chacom has been the biggest name in French pipes ever since.

Though not entirely planned, it does seem like the perfect month to list the fan-favorite Chacom Pirate pipe. The design is quite simple: in addition to a brick-red briar bowl, black acrylic stem, and ivory-like shank accent, the Pirate features a skull and crossbones motif carefully engraved at its fore. This one is a nicely stout poker sitter, while also not being especially heavy (seasoned pipers may find it clenchable). It may well be the perfect pipe to puff away at one’s favorite plug—especially if that plug is Salty Dogs.

This pipe is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It is chambered to allow for the use of 9mm filters is preferred.
