Comoy’s Grand Slam 182 Large Smooth Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, English Estates

Out of stock

Description

Comoy’s is a historic brand in pipe making, and possibly the most historic brand in the making of briar pipes. Though originally founded in 1825 by a French family from Saint Claude, France, production of Comoy’s pipes was soon moved to London, England, where it established itself as one of the quintessential English pipe companies.

There are few pipe series in the history of English pipes that are as iconic as the Grand Slam. Comoy’s patented stinger system, paired with high quality briar and craftsmanship, made the Grand Slam one of the most recognizable pipes in the 20th century. This one is a nicely stout, saddle billiard version, one that affords a very generous chamber without being overly heavy.

The condition is fair. Some darkening and slight charring to the rim, some blemishes on the sides of the bowl (likely handling marks), and minor tooth marks.
