Caminetto Natale 2014 Smooth Chubby Apple Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates

Out of stock

Description

Caminetto was, and is to this day, a decisive figure in the history of Italy’s pipe workshop tradition. After spending time developing their skills in the Castello workshop, Sergio Ascorti and Luigi Radice left to found their own venture, which they named, ‘Caminetto.’ Here, Ascorti and Radice were able to create their own now-classic shapes and finishes, such as the rusticated ‘Business,’ and the carved, wax-drip ‘New Dear.’

Like other makes, such as Peterson or Savinelli, Caminetto has, from time to time, released limited edition, seasonal pipes—though far less often. This particular Caminetto was, if memory serves, the first Caminetto Natale, or “Christmas,” pipe, taking the form of a short, chubby, and fittingly bauble-like apple. Of course, being a Caminetto, the pipe is much more than an interesting shape. It’s also covered in a flame grain, brought to the fore by—again, quite fittingly—a deep, warm red stain.

The condition is great. Some minor wear to the rim, but the pipe does not appear to have been used much. The pipe comes with a Caminetto box and sleeve.
