Kaywoodie Super Grain 28c Smooth Panel Estate Briar Pipe, American Estates
Out of stock
Description
Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.
The Super Grain was a staple of Kaywoodie’s 20th century output, combining a warm, natural stain with a black ebonite stem. This one, a very traditional panel apple shape, looks to have been made during the 1950s, as I do not see the “28c” in catalogs after that period. As it is from that period, it features Kaywoodie’s renowned Drinkless four-hole stinger and Synchro-Stem threaded fitment.
The condition is very good, especially for a roughly 70 year old pipe. Some inner rim darkening.
