Description
Originally a science teacher in California, Nathan Armentrout began making pipes in 2009 and has since emerged as one of North America’s most talented, high-grade artisan pipe-makers. Inspired by Denmark’s legendary carvers, Nathan’s designs continue the legacy of the Danish pipe-making movement into the present day and expand that legacy through his own unique interpretations of the masters of old.
Ah, the good old Danish apple. Reborn by greats as diverse as Former, Tao and the Ivarsson family, and then reborn again in the United States, in a new, Scandi-American mold. This one, from Nathan Armentrout, retains the plumpness characteristic of the Danish style and scales it down just a little, enough to give it the lightness necessary for puffing on the go. Further in keeping with Armentrout’s own aesthetic, the pipe is finished with a billowing, deep contrast sandblast, a boxwood accent, and a hand-cut cumberland stem.
