Savory’s (Dunhill) Special Export Reject 394L Sandblasted Oom Paul Estate Briar Pipe, English Estates
Out of stock
Description
While H.L Savory’s & Co was originally an English tobacco company established in the late 19th century, it was eventually acquired by Dunhill in the interwar years. As with Parker and Hardcastle, it then became a sub-brand manufactured by Dunhill.
This Savory’s is a very traditional Oom Paul sitter, dressed in a light, tan sandblast. This one ultimately ended up sold as a “reject,” though, like with makes such as Fribourg & Treyer, “reject” here should be understood more along the lines of a “seconds.” In other words, it was still deemed fit for sale, it was simply offered at a lower price due to cosmetic imperfections, rather than anything that would affect its smoking properties.
The condition is very good. Some finish fading and a slightly over-reamed chamber.
