Salim Şener Dragon Carved Apple Estate Block Meerschaum Pipe, Unsmoke
Out of stock
Description
Salim Şener is one of Turkey’s master meerschaum carvers, having started out working in the sepiolite mines of Eskişehir at just 13 years old, before carving his first meerschaum pipe the following year, aged just 14. That was back in the 1970s, and in the decades since, Salim would rise be be one of the relatively few meerschaum carvers so renowned that they were permitted to sign their own name on the pipes they made.
In the case of this one, it incorporates imagery of dragons commonly found in meerschaum pipes, though instead of going with the classic claw and egg motif, it is instead a plump apple with the dragon itself found on the pipe’s front, nested among a bouquet of traditional Turkish floral carvings.
This pipe is completely unsmoked.
