Description

Despite being a lesser known early to mid-century American brand, the Pipe by Lee has, in my experience, a dedicated cult following. Marketed with the tagline “Look for the stars”, the pipes were graded not in the usual manner of a stamping on the shank, but by the number of stars inlaid in the pipe’s ebonite stem. The more stars, the higher the grade, starting at one star, and ending at five. This one is a very respectable three-star grade, with plenty of bird’s-eye lighting up its bowl. As for the pipe being a Limited Edition, as the stamping indicates, all Pipe by Lee models were limited edition, as each was claimed to be unique. Note that this has a screw tenon, rather than a push fit one.

The condition is good. Some inner rim charring and slight finish fading.
