My Own Blend by Stanwell 938 Smooth Bent Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Danish Estates

Description

In 1939, a man named Poul Olsen established a tobacconist shop in Copenhagen. It was a successful one, too, especially as it was—as used to be the case with the great specialty shops of the time—a place where you could have a custom blend made according to your preference. Sadly, those days are gone, and I don’t think the Poul Olsen shop even exists anymore (please correct me if I’m wrong), with only the trademark and a few different staple blends remaining. But when the shop did exist, it offered house-brand pipes made by some of the great Danish pipe makers of the era. Poul Winslow was one such maker, as was Stanwell.
This is one of the latter, a very traditional bent billiard, with a light smooth finish over plenty of flame grain, collared by a tasteful brass accent.

The condition is good. Light rim charring and handling marks.
