Description
American pipe maker Jason Patrick has been a rising star on the artisan scene since taking up the craft in 2019. A former pastor, Patrick’s first forays into pipe making were simply a means to “sabbath,” though in the years since he’s found himself among America’s favorite high-grade carvers.
Patrick’s blowfish renditions have also struck me as particularly impressive, with this one being no different. A long shank, asymmetric piece in the vein of East Asian artisans, such as Hiroyuki Tokutomi or Ping Zhan, the pipe is a veritable featherweight, with its golden contrast stain showing off bird’s-eye so tight-knit that its only interruption is a dash of plateaux on the right flank.
The condition is great. Minor inner rim darkening.
