Antique Silver Mounted Block Meerschaum Kalmasch Pipe

We’re revisiting our roots! It’s been a while since we’ve undertaken such an extensive restoration of an antique meerschaum pipe. Back in the day, before focusing on estate pipes, we specialized in restoring and selling these valuable pieces.

This particular pipe, classified as a Kalmasch due to its shape, is a remarkable example. The securely fitted cherry wood and horn stem fits into the silver shank. Pipes like this date from the mid 1800s up until the 1920s. The deeper and brighter the color – the more valuable. The silver cap has an ornate carving adding to its appeal.

While some collectors treasure these pipes solely for their historical significance, it’s important to note their continued functionality. The excellent coloring indicates the pipe has been well-used, and its material offers a cool and smooth smoking experience.
