Description
Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.
While the Kaywoodie brand has been around for over a century, it was not until 2003 that the first Kaywoodie Pipe of the Year was released. Production numbers were far lower than contemporaries, such as Peterson or Savinelli, with only 100 pieces made for the 2003-2010 pipes. It also appears that the Kaywoodie pipes were made by hand, by then-owner Bill Feuerbach III. Looking at this Dublin, I can certainly believe that. The sandblasting alone is on par with pipes produced by another Bill—that being Bill Taylor. It’s a large pipe, almost a magnum in proportions, and a well made one at that.
The condition is great. Minor rim darkening.
