Description

The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our line of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

This Silver line MBSD Meerschaum combines two main design elements. The first, its basic form, is one of what is sometimes referred to as a “standing Dublin” or “dancing Dublin,” a Danish freehand shape that saw a notable revival in 21st century high-grade artisan briars( such as those of Brad Pohlmann or Premal Chheda). The second is a mixed finish divided between the left and right flanks of the bowl, commonly dubbed “Jekyll and Hyde” in reference to Robert Louis Stevenson’s monstrous, shape-shifting scientist. Popularly (though not exclusively) associated with Peterson, such a mixed finish approach provides novel results for meerschaum especially, given its capacity to color over time.
