Savinelli Mattone 626 Smooth Bent Apple Estate Briar Pipe, 6mm, Unsmoked

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

The Mattone was an exclusive series created for brick and mortar stores. It combined a light, blonde finish with a horn-hued band and black stem, providing something bright, elegant and quintessentially Italian for B&M customers. As can be seen on this one, the light stain was an excellent way to showcase the natural grain patterns of the briar underneath. This one is also very lightweight, which should make it an easy clencher for almost anyone.

This Mattone also happens to be completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating to help with the break in process. It also comes with its original presentation pouch. Like most modern Savinellis the pipe is chambered for 6mm filters, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, or it can be used without one.
