Savinelli Madera 207 Smooth Apple Estate Briar Pipe, 6mm, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
I’ve not seen one of Savinelli’s Madera series before, but two things (other than its rarity) strike me as particularly interesting: one, it has a boxwood ferrule that I’ve not seen on any other Savinelli pipe before, and; two, it has a P-lip style stem. The stem is indeed original, and is in fact the same design as Savinelli otherwise uses for its Dry System – i.e., their Peterson System competitor. So, if you like P-lips, but prefer your pipes to be more along the lines of the Italian neo-classical style, this could be perfect for you.
The condition is great. There’s a little darkening on the pipe’s rounded rim, but nothing major.
