Mina Pipes Sandblasted Reverse Calabash Nosewarmer Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked
Out of stock
Description
This particular pipe came to us with a batch of new old stock (NOS) pipes from a store closure a few states over. Based on what I was able to research, the Mina company runs a pipe workshop in China, not unlike HS Studio or GH Zhang, which produces a number of different makes based on the style of pipe. This one is a very distinct design, almost like a chubbier, nosewarmer version of the Tubos shapes made by Tom Eltang, or the Aero from Radice. Like both of these precedents, this one houses a reverse calabash system in its shank, allowing for an extra cool, dry smoke. On a last note, the pipe looks to be made from strawberry briar (commonly known as Arbutus), not unlike the pipes of, say, Chris Morgan, lending it some very unique, deep grain patterns.
This pipe is completely unsmoked. It comes with its original sleeve.
