DiMonte Sandblasted Straight Dublin Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Out of stock

Description

DiMonte is an American make with a somewhat complicated history. To cut a long story short: in 1919, the Arlington Briar Pipe Corporation was founded in Brooklyn, New York. ABPC made pipes under the name of Arlington Briar Pipe Works, producing various makes for their own brand, and for tobacconists such as the Wilke Pipe Shop in New York City. As pipe smoking became less and less popular over the course of the 20th century, ABPC eventually went out of business. However, the heir to the company, Mel Rosenberger, would later take up its reins and begin producing pipes again, along with business partner Bert Gottfried. Rather than continue with the Arlington brand, Rosenberger and Gottfried chose to change its name to DiMonte.

This Dublin from DiMonte is a very American take on the classic shape, combining a subtle, dark sandblasted bowl with a pale golden acrylic stem. The pipe is also the perfect weight for clenching, being a mere 32 grams.

The condition is excellent. The pipe doesn’t appear to have been smoked much, and as such I don’t see anything that needs highlighting for prospective buyers.
