Kaywoodie Super Grain 45, Smooth Panel Estate Briar Pipe, American Estates [SOLD OUT]

Out of stock

Description

Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.

While dating Kaywoodie pipes is notoriously difficult, this pipe will have been made some time between 1936 and the 1960s. It is post-1936 due to the two-digit shape code, but pre-1960s due to the shape itself – the octagon panel – being discontinued by this point. As for the pipe itself, the name of the line, ‘Super Grain,’ certainly isn’t kidding. This pipe has natural bird’s-eye grain patterns galore, which are further accentuated by the choice of a light, brown-blonde stain. Speaking of light, the weight of this pipe is perfect for clenching or smoking on the go, being a mere 34 grams in weight.

The condition is near-mint. I’m struggling to find any issues that need pointing out, but please examine the photos carefully for yourself. I don’t expect you’ll be disappointed.
