Description
The Moonshine Pipe Company was created in the early 2010s by American artisan craftsman Johnathan Lavezzo. After becoming a major hit in the tobacco pipe community, Lavezzo’s production became greatly outpaced by demand, leading him to enlist the help of Todd Johnson and Pete Prevost in scaling up the venture. Johnson and Prevost’s Briarworks workshop took on the manufacture of Moonshine pipes, with the former ultimately acquiring the latter. Today, Moonshine and Briarworks pipes are produced under the same roof in Tennessee.
The MS09 “Cannonball” is one of Moonshine’s most popular shapes—so much so, that the company reinterpreted it to create two others in its likeness. One was the MS09S “Short Fuse Cannonball,” which featured a smaller stem; the other was the MS12 “Grapeshot,” a smaller, lighter variant on the original design. This Moonshine Cannonball is a rusticated iteration of the latter. Like the original Cannonball, it is a stubby, chubby, ball-shaped pipe, but with more pocket-friendly, clenchable proportions.
The condition is great. Some minor wear to the rim.
