Savinelli Made Smooth Prince Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

As a disclaimer, this pipe was certainly made by Savinelli, as it features the Savinelli emblem in its nomenclature, but unless the rest of the stamping has worn off, this may be one of their seconds. There are a couple of natural imperfections in the grain, so that would make sense. This is, however, nothing to say that the pipe looks bad or that it won’t smoke well. Savinelli has often sold pipes under various sub-brands and seconds lines that simply didn’t quite fit their exacting aesthetic standards. The pipe itself is a traditional prince, with a very Italian and very natural strawberry-blonde stain. Whatever its provenance, it’ll be a solid smoker.

The condition is great. There’s a little inner rim darkening, but nothing major.
