Description

The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our line of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

In part thanks to our Product Manager, James, I have grown very fond of the often-interchangeably named “strawberry” and “acorn” shapes that have been central to Swedish and Danish pipe design since the post-war years. From the various shapes designed for Stanwell by Sixten Ivarssson, Tom Eltang, and Nanna Ivarsson, to the more recent, international creations of figures like Chris Asteriou, Yeti, and the ever-expanding roster of artisans from China. This Silver line MBSD Meerschaum takes the familiar strawberry shape of artisan and artisan-designed briars and compresses it into a vase-like hanger, the result being a tall, plump, deep-chambered form that nonetheless remains easily portable. The pipe also features a reverse calabash system embedded in its shank for cool, dry, puffing.
