Description

The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our line of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

My carver and I are always looking for interesting new shapes for our meerschaum pipes. For this one, inspiration came from the weird and wonderful world of Danish volcanoes. From the designs created for Stanwell by Sixten Ivarsson, such as the “24” and the “70,” to the masterworks of Teddy Knudsen, Poul Ilsted, or Kai Nielsen, we wanted to capture that strange, swooping figure found so commonly in Danish volcano renditions, which culminate in a bowl already infused with motion. I’d say this one does a pretty good job of that, without being derivative. The full credit for that, however, goes to my carver. After all, having ideas is one thing, realizing them is another.
