Today, Savinelli is likely the first name that comes to mind when considering the serially produced Italian pipe. Achille Jr. established the brand and brought it to world recognition, but Giancarlo and his team have kept it in the spotlight.

You must know the raw material very well.” From curing briar to shaping to mixing their all-natural stains, Savinelli conducts every step of production in-house.

The Savinelli factory/workshop opened in 1948 in the Varese district in northwest Italy, and the pipes produced there rapidly began gaining prestige in markets worldwide.

  • Rounded shank: The underside is rounded, allowing the eye to follow a smooth curve from the heel to the end of the stem. This characteristic of Savinelli’s aesthetic can be found in all their pipes, from standard to extra-large.
  • Balsa filter: Savinelli pipes often use a balsa filter to provide smooth, impurity-free smoke. The filter is triangular and can be 6 or 9mm.
  • Natural Collection: This line of pipes is made from briar wood and finished naturally, with colors and finishes that evoke plants, flowers, fruits, and natural elements.
  • KS marking: Some Savinelli pipes, like the Porto Cervo Rustic 114, have a “KS” marking to indicate that they are king-sized.
