It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years.

This shape 127 De Luxe Milano, while being from a line that hasn’t been produced for several decades, clearly shows why Savinelli has been so successful for so long. It is a simple English-French saddle billiard, but it is dressed in a quintessentially Italian golden stain, which does well to highlight the bird’s-eye grain around its bowl.

While there is some minor rim darkening, and a small tooth mark in the stem, it is otherwise wonderfully preserved, and should be a great smoker for its next owner.
