Bob Bentley, the son of Paul Bentley who owned Astleys until its closure in 1998, worked at the shop as a youth assisting his father with stocking and selling pipes. One of the perks of being employed by his father was that he received gifts of pipes and tampers. Over the course of 30 years, Bob amassed a collection of these items, all of which have remained unsmoked.
